About The Position

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, is seeking an On-Site Project Coordinator for a BHP Potash Mine. This role supports Construction Managers and Project Managers in coordinating and documenting projects, ordering equipment, and performing general office duties for fire alarm, suppression, and sprinkler systems. The position is on-site with a modified work schedule of 14 consecutive days on shift (6:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time) followed by seven days off. Candidates can either commute or stay on camp. Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, EXCEL, Power Point.
  • Knowledge of ACE, OAsys, Job Cost Systems.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and self-motivating.
  • Must Pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Positive Attitude, Punctual and Accountable.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience in a high-volume, customer service-oriented position.
  • Electrical/Construction industry experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Construction Managers and Project Managers with coordination and documentation.
  • Ordering of equipment for Install base projects.
  • Performing day-to-day general office duties as assigned for fire alarm, suppression, and sprinkler systems.
  • Uploading and maintaining Projects and Contracts via Job Design/BBI.
  • Monitoring the status of small projects (fire alarm, suppression, sprinkler).
  • Communicating with customers and sales representatives regarding material and/or labor requirements.
  • Ensuring required engineering is performed to meet customer expectations.
  • Coordinating with TIS supervisor and/or construction manager on customer’s labor requirements.
  • Ordering equipment and ensuring customers receive material when needed.
  • Reporting project status to department managers.
  • Processing change orders, releasing equipment, filing, Certificate of Insurance, and Warranty Letters.
  • Billing of projects, including compiling back-ups such as Certified Payroll and work tickets.
  • Handling customer/contract disputes as needed.
  • Coordinating delivery of equipment to the job site.
  • Coordinating delivery of close-out documents.
  • Creating purchase orders for subcontractors.
  • Procurement and verification of project schedules.
  • Attending work in progress meetings.
  • Tracking project RFIs, change orders, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Coordinating and following up with the Sales Team regarding project bookings and releasing jobs from COE/Credit holds.
  • Assisting with Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Acting as the facilitator and point-person for information sharing between OTC, District, and select customers as directed by ACSM.
  • Supporting Dispute Resolution when requested by AR Collectors or the Dispute team.
  • Contacting customers when identified as necessary as part of DMS or for simple reasons.
  • Responsible for accounts payable.
  • Responsible for new vendor set up.
  • Time entry/payroll for field crew and project managers.
  • Cost transfers.
