About The Position

The Construction Project Coordinator supports a Project Manager or Area Project Manager in the planning and implementation of construction projects.

Requirements

  • Work experience or internship in a construction-related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or significant related construction project support experience.
  • Valid Texas driver license.
  • Familiarity with construction industry contracts, practices, processes, and standards.
  • Familiarity with construction safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner.
  • Proficient in using computer applications to include Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) HCSS and Foundation preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.

  • Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity, identify gaps and implement innovative solutions to increase operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating and modifying project budgets, plans, schedules, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, details, takeoffs and RFMs.
  • Assist in identifying needs for subcontracting opportunities, create formal requests for quotes, analyze subcontractor quotes and make recommendations for selection.
  • Identify, document, communicate, and track project issues.
  • Review and analyze plans, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation relating to assigned projects.
  • Create a detailed takeoff list of materials needed to complete project.
  • Work through Purchasing to secure needed resources and assist with coordination of delivery.
  • Secure required permits.
  • Perform change order preparation, tracking and implementation.
  • Track, document, report, and invoice for completed work and material on hand/in storage.
  • Create sub-pays and authorize payment for subcontractors.
  • Organize and maintain project folder and documentation.
  • Work with project superintendents through the project to ensure timely and on-budget completion.
  • Visit project jobsites for coordination, conflict resolution or status meetings as well as jobsite visual progress updates.
  • Assist with project closeout activities and post-project review.
  • Address, apply for, and coordinate activities for utility connections needed for assigned projects.
