This position is responsible for cleaning duties within the hospital or any outbuildings. The role requires flexibility to cover other shifts as needed for vacation coverage. The Project Coordinator will ensure a clean and safe hospital environment, respond appropriately in emergency situations, and maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role also involves coordinating projects to meet customer satisfaction levels and completing projects without incident. The Project Coordinator will evaluate and communicate with department managers about areas needing projects, demonstrate safe project work using appropriate chemicals and techniques, and communicate specific cleaning needs to their supervisor. Tasks must be completed thoroughly and within the designated timeframe. The role requires reorganizing to cover other tasks and changing schedules as needed to ensure all areas are covered and a clean and safe environment is maintained. The Project Coordinator will revise the project schedule in winter months to accommodate snow coverage and maintain a safe environment for patients by ensuring sharp objects, toxic substances, and other potentially harmful objects are not accessible. They will also ensure the environment of care is free of objects that may contribute to patient falls, slips, or trips, and make assistive devices readily available. Awareness of the increased risk of falls, slips, and trips for elderly patients and visitors is crucial. The Project Coordinator must be sensitive to hearing difficulties in older patients, ensuring they speak at an appropriate loudness level. They will also take appropriate actions to ensure the physical security of children and comply with policies related to the prevention of neonate, infant, and child abduction.
