About The Position

The Project Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the implementation and execution of assigned health services funded research projects within the Center for Surgical Health Assessment, Research & Policy. This role plans, oversees, and coordinates daily activities across all projects, including media and outreach to local, research, and national communities. The coordinator participates in planning, designing, and executing complex health services research studies, conducts critical analysis of health services research literature, and develops plans and resource tools to meet the requirements of new protocols. They will assist in the development of tailored research methodologies, tools, and techniques, and will develop, oversee, and coordinate processes for the recruitment and management of research participants from local, state, and national sites. Additionally, the role coordinates processes for assessing eligibility, building and monitoring appropriate controls for informed consent of individual participation in research protocols, and develops, implements, and evaluates protocols for compliance with regulatory and sponsor policies. The Project Coordinator will assist with identifying, documenting, and reporting non-compliant activities to federal, state, or industry sponsors and Institutional Review Boards (IRB). They will coordinate and assist with the collection of primary research data through patient and provider interviews, as well as through internal requests for access to secondary data from OSUWMC IT and national sponsors. The role assists the analytic team to ensure analyses are planned, documented, and executed in adherence to protocol, and collects, transcribes, codes, manages, analyzes, and interprets research data. Finally, the Project Coordinator assists investigators with the preparation and submission of grant applications to secure continued and additional funding of health service research projects, and assists with the preparation and submission of abstracts, manuscripts, articles, and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals as well as presentations at scientific conferences, workshops, and seminars.
