About The Position

WSP is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join their Project Controls team in Columbus, OH. This role involves building and maintaining program/project schedules, monitoring contractor and consultant schedules, identifying cost and scheduling issues, and recommending resolutions. The specialist will also prepare cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and financial projections, while supporting earned value management (EVM) tracking and reporting. Key responsibilities include tracking and controlling project costs, managing change orders, cost coding, commitments, and accruals. The role requires monitoring schedule performance, critical path changes, and float, and coordinating with contractors and consultants to resolve variances. Administration of cost management/PMIS platforms (e.g., e-Builder, Procore, or similar), tracking acquisition packages for reimbursement, and supporting invoice review and processing are also part of the role. The Project Controls Specialist will produce regular cost and schedule progress reports for the Program Manager and PMO, ensuring data accuracy for Power BI dashboards. Support for the integration of cost and schedule data with Power BI reporting tools, vendor selection, contractor progress tracking, and project close-out reporting are also expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in cost controls and scheduling on large-scale capital projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of earned value management (EVM), cost forecasting, and schedule management practices.
  • PMIS/Scheduling: Experience with PMIS platforms such as e-Builder, Procore, or Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Power BI and data reporting concepts sufficient to collaborate with reporting/BI teams and ensure accurate data integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate cost and schedule data into clear updates for project teams and stakeholders.
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
