About The Position

The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for providing support on complex projects during the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities for the role include risk identification and management, forecasting, scheduling, cost planning and project status reporting. The Project Controls Specialist will develop project controls including planning, cost control, change management plans and procedures with continuous review and improvement recommendations. The role requires that the project controls processes are consistently applied across all complex projects. The Project Controls Specialist supports the development of resource-loaded schedules, identifying risks to internal and customer commitments. In addition, a key responsibility is to implement Change Management & forecasting practices to appropriately capture the impacts of change to cost and schedule activities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and flexibility to work with Project Controls software
  • Excellent oral and written communications
  • Excellent people skills to work with own team and report to senior management
  • BS in Business, Finance, or Engineering 4-year degree

  • Sufficiently familiar with Solar's organization and practices to accomplish project requirements
  • Develops solutions to complex technical and process problems by coordinating with various groups including Business Development, Business Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain organizations
  • Limited supervision and exercises considerable latitude in determination of technical objectives
  • Work is self-started
  • Individual must be innovative and inventive to solve technical or process problems
  • Exercises leadership from booking to commissioning of Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment
  • The successful and timely completion of projects directly supports organizational objectives

  • Interacts with external customers and suppliers as needed to support project objectives
