About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Project Controls Specialist (Cost Manager) to assist with Capital Project Controls activities, including estimating, cost management, planning/scheduling, risk management, change management, and contract management. This role supports the design and construction phases of capital projects for a pharmaceutical client, working closely with the project management team and other staff. The position requires supporting multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and involves cost, financial, commercial, and schedule controls experience, ideally within the commercial sector.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • Capable of executing technical and analytical functions.
  • Well organized with strong communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Construction Management, Quantity Surveying) or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 – 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills required as well as the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
  • Understanding of construction means and methodology.
  • Ability to read and understand design information.
  • Experience using cost and scheduling software including Primavera P6 & SAP.

  • Professional license or working towards a professional license (RICS, CCM, AACE).

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide project level reports including detailed analysis of project cost and changes.
  • Support the Project Management team in reporting current months Work In Place and future forecasts.
  • Maintain and control project budgets from design concept through to project completion.
  • Assist with control of total project costs (direct and indirect costs).
  • Perform regular project health checks to ensure they remain within budget.
  • Support change management activities including project change requests and updating project change control logs.
  • Execute change processes, including RFA / RFI Submittal Log updates, and assure alignment with budget, schedule, or risk impacts.
  • Complete cost validation and quantity surveying on an as needed basis.
  • Reconcile project costs during the project lifecycle and support financial closeout as required.
  • Reconcile program and project controls data with the client’s fiscal and financial control systems.
  • Present results of cost analysis to senior staff and clients.
  • Conduct monthly audits of invoices and Purchase Orders on behalf of the Project Manager.
  • Support the Project Manager with all aspects of the bidding process, including RFP preparation and analysis of bids.
  • Provide support to the project controls delivery lead with capital and finance driven reports.
