Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy industrial, EPC, or similar project environments—experience in nuclear or defense programs is a strong plus.
  • Hands‑on experience developing estimates aligned with AACE cost classes.
  • Familiarity with estimating tools commonly used by EPC contractors.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem‑solving abilities—someone who asks the right questions to uncover the right details.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with technical and non‑technical teams alike.
  • Understanding of how cost, schedule, and risk integrate within project controls.
  • Experience with tools such as ProPricer, InEight, Sage, Open Plan, or similar systems.
  • A Q Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • A desire to learn, grow, and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve Centrus’ estimating standards, procedures, and tools to ensure consistency and high quality across all projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Controls teams—including planning & scheduling, forecasting, work packaging, and change management—to ensure cohesive cost alignment.
  • Prepare the inputs, procedures, labor/equipment rates, and other resources required to build accurate AACE Class 5 through Class 1 estimates.
  • Translate estimate plans into detailed project budgets supporting engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, testing, and operations.
  • Support the establishment and adjustment (baseline and re‑baseline) of project budgets; identify deviations and assist in issue resolution.
  • Partner closely with Contracts & Procurement to validate pricing, support negotiations, and assess change orders.
  • Assist project teams with cost‑impact assessments for scope changes and risk events.
  • Contribute to risk and contingency planning efforts.
  • Support dispute resolution and claims analysis, including forensic-level cost review when needed.
