About The Position

This role is generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs, and/or estimating projects. The work will be performed under minimal supervision. The primary responsibilities will include engaging with Project Managers to ensure requisitions are clearly defined and contain all necessary documentation, supporting the Change Management process, and assisting in the creation and coding of requisitions to Contractors. The role also supports the monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) process by requesting and documenting Contractor returned progress, and supports the Project Controls team with work process development and improvements. Additionally, the role involves performing monthly Goods Receipts (GRs) for Capital Project purchase orders, supporting the capital project closure process once a project is substantially complete, and the timely closure of purchase orders in SAP / Ariba. The analyst will track, monitor, and forecast project commitments and expenditures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 10 or more years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
  • Degree from an accredited university or college, or in lieu of a degree, High school degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience supporting capital projects as a cost analyst in a manufacturing and chemical/refining environment.
  • Use of SAP
  • Working knowledge of Ariba
  • MS Office Suite
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Prior experience in a capital cost analyst role supporting capital projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
  • AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
