About The Position

This role is for a Project Controls Analyst who will work closely with the Lead project controls analyst to build trusted partnerships with Project Managers and technical teams. The goal is to strengthen cost control, forecasting accuracy, resource planning, and overall project performance across a diverse portfolio of environmental management projects. The analyst will apply their expertise to monitor budgets, track project performance, and identify emerging risks early, while helping project teams navigate scope changes, forecasting updates, and performance recovery. The role provides clear visibility into cost, schedule, and financial performance to help project teams manage risk, maintain control, and deliver successful outcomes. This position is suited for an analytical professional who thrives in a controls-focused environment and enjoys supporting major projects through data-driven insight.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Project Management, Business, Finance, Environmental Management, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in project controls, project finance, or cost controls within consulting, engineering, environmental services, or construction environments.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with Oracle financial systems, ERP platforms, project reporting tools, or similar project accounting systems.
  • Experience supporting multi-disciplinary environmental, regulatory, remediation, infrastructure, mining, energy, or resource-sector projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively with technical and project leadership teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the establishment and maintenance of robust project cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cashflow projections to support effective project delivery.
  • Monitor project portfolio performance against approved cost and schedule baselines, ensuring early visibility of risks and trends.
  • Identify, analyze, and clearly communicate cost and schedule variances to support proactive decision-making.
  • Support initial project risk assessments and contingency planning activities for complex or high-risk projects.
  • Maintain project controls reports and dashboards that provide clear insight into project financial performance.
  • Support change management analyses, assessing cost and schedule impacts associated with scope changes.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to provide earned value metrics (CPI, SPI) and forecast insights (EAC, ETC).
