The role aims to improve oversight of engineering and manufacturing progress, visibility into variances, and the reliability of project forecasts.   The following responsibilities form the core of this role in our Canadian team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in project management, engineering, or a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in tools:  Advanced Excel, Primavera P6, or MS Project
  • Understanding of engineering–manufacturing–testing workflows
  • Analytical rigor, structured thinking, and the ability to anticipate issues
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • French (advanced), English (working knowledge)
  • Legal status to work in Canada is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPC projects, energy, industrial equipment, or hydroelectricity (an asset)
  • Experience with ERP systems (an asset)
  • Power BI or reporting tools (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the detailed engineering plan (WBS, deliverables, milestones)
  • Track actual vs. planned progress of engineering activities by discipline
  • Consolidate the progress of deliverables (documents, diagrams, procedures)
  • Quickly identify variances, delays, and risks on the critical path
  • Support discipline leads in prioritizing activities
  • Track the progress of manufacturing activities (drawing release, production launches, production, testing)
  • Ensure consistency between engineering, manufacturing planning, and procurement
  • Track key manufacturing milestones (start of manufacturing, assembly, testing)
  • Identify manufacturing risks that impact the project schedule
  • Contribute to mitigation and catch-up plans in collaboration with internal teams
  • Update project schedules
  • Integrate engineering and manufacturing activities into a consolidated schedule
  • Participate in critical path analyses and catch-up scenario planning
  • Maintain reliable forecasts for the completion of engineering and manufacturing phases
  • Track engineering workload and manufacturing effort (planned vs. actual hours)
  • Participate in team workload and capacity forecasts
  • Identify deviations in effort, productivity, or sequencing
  • Support the optimization of resource allocation
  • Produce clear, fact-based reports for project reviews
  • Participate in monthly project performance reviews
  • Contribute to tracking changes and their cost/schedule impacts
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of tracking tools and methods
