About The Position

HII Unmanned Systems is seeking a Project Controller with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience to support the planning, execution, and financial performance of complex government and commercial programs. Reporting to the Project Control Manager, the role partners with Program Managers, CAMs, Finance, Contracts, Procurement, and Scheduling to manage program cost, schedule, and performance. The Project Controller develops and maintains budgets, forecasts, Estimates at Completion (EACs), funding profiles, and program baselines; performs cost, schedule, and variance analyses; conducts schedule risk assessments; tracks labor, material, and subcontractor costs; and ensures compliance with contractual requirements and government guidelines. The role supports EVMS activities, including Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), surveillance reviews, audits, customer reporting, and monthly performance measurement deliverables. It also identifies risks, recommends corrective actions, manages contract modifications, and provides timely financial and performance reporting to program leadership and customers. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; experience in project controls, program finance, EVMS, or government contracting; and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project control systems. The work is performed in an office environment.

Requirements

10 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; 8 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 14 years of relevant experience.
Experience as a Project Controller.
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience is required.
Intermediate knowledge of Excel and the Microsoft Office suite, and working knowledge of relevant software applications.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos Reporting.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Set up cost control systems and monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring a validated cost schedule control system.
Analyze contract performance and prepare reports to ensure contracts remain within negotiated parameters and government cost control guidelines.
Prepare budgets and schedules for contract work.
Perform or assist with financial analyses, including funding profiles, sales outlooks, and variance analyses.
Prepare program plans that capture and schedule program requirements and statements of work.
Conduct schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks.
Maintain accurate expenditure records, direct preparation of expenditure projections, and submit timely requests to the government for additional funding.
Incorporate contractual changes into control systems and monitor outstanding contract work to maintain realistic cost and schedule baselines.
Develop and maintain forecasts, Estimates at Completion (EACs), funding profiles, and program baselines.
Track labor, material, and subcontractor costs and support EVMS reporting and performance measurement deliverables.
Support Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), surveillance reviews, audits, and customer reporting.
Identify risks, recommend corrective actions, manage contract modifications, and provide financial and performance reporting to program leadership and customers.
