As a Project Controller – Americas Operations, you will act as the regional counterpart to the Productivity and Operations Finance Center of Excellence (CoE), driving cost accuracy, productivity follow-ups, performance management, and continuous improvement across GTS Americas Operations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong experience in Operations.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional and regional stakeholders.
  • A strong analytical mindset with a focus on data, productivity, and performance improvement.
  • Experience within a Services environment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Valid work authorization in the country of employment. The employer is unable to sponsor work authorization for this role at any time.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and controlling expenses involving assigned budgets for planned outages under Contractual Service Agreements (CSAs) across the Americas region to meet contractual obligations and business targets.
  • Supporting Application Engineers in developing accurate Job Cost Estimates (JCEs) for planned CSA outages prior to execution.
  • Estimating expenditures and recommending cost-saving opportunities to Project Managers (PMs) and Service Managers (SMs).
  • Developing and implementing proactive solutions and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Building strong relationships with CSA PMs, SMs, Finance, Sourcing, and Risk teams to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Obtaining, organizing, and validating all outage-related costs, including labor, materials, manufacturing costs, supplier invoices, timesheets, and travel expenses.
  • Requesting and downloading cost information for outages to develop and maintain Site Cost Tracking (SCT) records.
  • Comparing final costs against estimated costs to identify variances, prevent future cost overruns, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborating with PMs and SMs to review and finalize outage costs.
  • Presenting cost performance for completed outages and projected costs for upcoming outages to the Operations Productivity Leader and Gas Services IET leadership team.
  • Managing and maintaining the CSA Reconciliation Workflow, utilizing information obtained from My Outage.
  • Coordinating with Project Controllers at Headquarters to obtain cost inputs from executed outages.
  • Supporting the implementation of Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies to maximize resource utilization.
  • Identifying and implementing cost improvement opportunities using Baker Hughes tools and processes.
  • Recognizing opportunities to optimize costs associated with Field Service Engineers (FSEs), including Residents and B2B resource pools.
  • Maintaining effective communication, attention to detail, time management, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • Supporting project closeout activities and claims management.
  • Providing monthly updates on project costs versus budget performance.
  • Offering guidance regarding FSE-related expenses and associated P&L considerations.
