About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Project Control Specialist to join their team. This role will work at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts, including repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The Project Control Specialist will oversee and coordinate the operational aspects of ongoing projects, perform project management and planning in coordination with the project team and line management. The role involves reviewing project and budget status, managing schedules, preparing status reports, assessing project issues, developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals, and developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and intervening in problem-solving efforts. The specialist will also track and report on the operational aspects of ongoing projects, serve as a liaison between management and project planning, and notify appropriate personnel when timeline issues occur. Extensive experience with Microsoft Project software is required. The role requires extensive contact with internal personnel and outside customer representatives at various management levels concerning operations, scheduling, or specific phases of projects or contracts. The specialist will conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings and perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience, master's degree with 3 years experience or high school diploma with 9+ years experience.
  • U.S Citizenship; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must have experience in project management and planning.
  • Must have the ability to balance and prioritize numerous deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate appropriate People Leadership Characteristics.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Project software is required.

  • Experience with government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Notifies appropriate personnel when time line issues occur.
  • Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics operations.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
