Position Summary The Junior Project Controller provides site-based administrative and analytical support to the Project Controls team. This role is suited for an individual with a strong administrative or financial background who is looking to develop into a project controls function. The position focuses on supporting cost, revenue, and progress tracking across maintenance and turnaround scopes, while gaining exposure to core project controls processes and systems. Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or relevant experience in administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong administrative background in a site-based environment, preferably within industrial construction, maintenance, or turnaround work.
  • Strong aptitude for working with numbers, including tracking costs, revenue, and basic financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large datasets and tracking tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work closely with site teams, supervision, and client representatives.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a project controls function.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating or maintaining labour, equipment, or material tracking tools is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with project controls concepts such as cost tracking, reporting, and work breakdown structures is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day site administrative support to project controls activities, including data entry, document control, and reporting support.
  • Assist with the preparation and upkeep of priced labour, equipment, and material (LEMs) documents to support field execution.
  • Support tracking of labour hours, equipment usage, and material costs, ensuring alignment with field activities and approved work scopes.
  • Validate the accuracy of cost coding in field documentation, procurement requisitions, and subcontractor invoicing to ensure proper cost allocation and reporting.
  • Assist in managing the change management (MOC) process, including the development and submission of change proposals for client review and approval.
  • Assist with the collection and validation of progress data from site teams to support accurate reporting of costs and revenue.
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting deliverables, including cost tracking, revenue tracking, and general project status updates.
  • Maintain and organize documentation such as reports, logs, cost trackers, and turnover-related records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with the setup and ongoing maintenance of work breakdown structures, cost codes, and basic project controls tracking tools.
  • Coordinate with site supervision, planners, and client representatives to ensure information is captured accurately and on time.
  • Work across a variety of scopes including routine maintenance, emergent work, turnaround preparation, and short-duration work packages.
