About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team in the Phoenix, AZ area. This position would support multiple sectors, including mining, oil and gas, and rail. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and planning of hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, watershed evaluations, and earthwork site design, as well as permit/construction-level drawings and details. Work will entail a mixture of engineering design, permitting, proposal and report writing, and construction-phase field engineering. Arcadis offers a flexible working environment and follows a hybrid work structure. A successful candidate will work from the office and remotely based on demands of project and client teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Registered Professional Engineer, and willingness to obtain reciprocity in western states such as Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona.
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Ability to work independently and to mentor junior staff
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling (e.g., HydroCAD, WinTR-55, PondPack, HEC-RAS)
  • Familiarity with government, client, and industry local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting mining, utilities, rail, or pipeline protection projects and coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Prior experience in land development such as site layout, stormwater management, grading, and erosion and sedimentation controls
  • Understanding of land development, erosion and sediment controls, road design (particularly Haul Roads and Forest Service Roads), river restoration, and stormwater permitting

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge to support a range of environmental projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications and report writing for civil and environmental permitting.
  • Deliver projects utilizing Arcadis resources.
  • Interface directly with clients and contractors.
  • Manage all aspects of project delivery.
  • Planning, design, and oversight of industrial solid waste landfills, wastewater collection and treatment systems and impoundments, channels, levees, drainage systems, stormwater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, roads, and other civil/environmental aspects of infrastructure.
  • Assist in the field with construction and inspections.
