About The Position

Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global third-party logistics company (3PL) headquartered in Memphis, TN has an immediate opening for a Logistics Professional to join our team! We are seeking a Project Cargo Coordinator to manage complex domestic and international shipments, including oversized and turnkey project cargo. This role requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years experience in Project Cargo handling and logistics
  • Proficient in Cargowise
  • Strong knowledge of international and domestic transportation modes
  • Understanding of import/export regulations and customs compliance
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Willingness to travel locally and nationally as required for customer/project coverage.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor day-to-day execution of assigned customer accounts and project shipments
  • Tracks project milestones and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Escalates and resolves high-risk or high-cost operational issues
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for routine customer inquiries
  • Communicates shipment status, delays, and operational updates to customers
  • Provides documentation and shipment updates upon request
  • Assists with quoting and customer rate support
  • Schedules carriers and truckers for pickups and deliveries
  • Assigns loads to carriers and owner-operators
  • Manages terminal pickups, equipment returns, and free-time tracking
  • Coordinates special equipment requirements
  • Manages delivery appointments and route planning
  • Confirms ETAs and PODs
  • Tracks shipments and monitors layover and detention issues
  • Resolves day-of-operation issues and exceptions
  • Coordinates unloading, transloading, and load-out activities
  • Prepares and reviews shipping documents, including BLs, packing lists, and arrival notices
  • Prepares and submits ISF, customs, and regulatory documentation
  • Reviews BL accuracy and compliance requirements
  • Coordinates with customs brokers and government agencies as needed
  • Reviews carrier and vendor invoices for accuracy and approval
  • Validates demurrage, detention, storage, and other accessorial charges
  • Supports accurate customer billing and dispute resolution
