Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
3+ years freight forwarding industry experience.
Excellent organizational, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals to complete work accurately, thoroughly and on tight timelines to best serve customer needs.

Nice To Haves

Customs Brokerage experience preferred.
Cargowise One experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare necessary entry documents for wide variety of goods and commodities to the relevant regulatory agencies, such as U.S. Customs, FDA, and USDA, in order to secure customs clearance.
Arrange pickup of air and ocean freight at origins and arrange transportation to destination.
Coordinate movement of shipments from port via ocean, air, rail, truck or intermodal.
Prepare and submit Arrival Notices.
Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and tariffs.
Communicate with vendors.
Track and trace shipments.
Coordinate deliveries to consignees.
Communicate and follow up with clients regarding shipment status, questions and/or other inquiries.
Advise clients on transportation options, types of carriers, or shipping routes.
Post bonds for the products being imported or assist clients in obtaining bonds.
Pay or arrange for payment of freight, and insurance fees, or other charges.
Maintain communication and information between Customers and Vendors to ensure that customers’ needs are met.
Generate invoicing in accordance with company policy.
Ensuring internal compliance standards are met.
