Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency plus one year of experience
  • 1- years of experience with imports accounting requirements
  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs

Responsibilities

  • Follow-up and secure missing documentation for import accounting record keeping as required by Federal law, in addition to department and company policy and procedures
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and checklists as required
  • Maintain files electronically and physically in cabinets as needed according to federal agency guidelines, in addition to department and company policies and procedures
  • Closely partner with the import department assistant manager and manager, to ensure that all payments (Automatic Clearing House-ACH, deferred tax, interest bills, etc.) are accurate, and timely processed and transmitted to Customs and Border Protection as required by federal regulation
  • Coordinate the processing of documents with US Customs relating to all imported merchandise
  • Communicate with suppliers for necessary paperwork and order confirmation
  • Prepare check requests for all related fees
  • Maintain bonded warehouse inventory book and process withdrawals from bonded warehouse
  • Monitor shipment arrivals and coordinate delivery schedules
  • Calculate deferred tax on a semi-monthly basis
  • Assist in reconciliation of physical inventory and Federal product tax records with inventory control supervisor
  • Prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints
  • Assist with other department functions as needed, including but not limited to, monthly billing of other divisions and documentation team support
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
