Requirements

  • University, bachelor’s degree in economics, business education or related field OR equivalent experience in project procurement.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings for project purchasing
  • ERP (SAP) / Procurement key user experiences / knowledge​
  • Know-how of international contract management

Responsibilities

  • Processes orders for projects
  • Is accountable for project procurement performance objectives/targets and realizing project saving measures
  • Aligns project needs with Project Procurement Manager for larger projects (different thresholds apply for the respective divisions)
  • Manages the overall timeline regarding manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of all elements of the scope (in collaboration with Project Procurement Manager if applicable)
  • Coordinates category specific scope within the projects with the category managers and executes upon framework agreements
  • Works closely with Strategic Buyers and Project Procurement Managers implementing the category strategy (prices, terms, conditions) under consideration of individual project/business need
  • Executes supplier selection along project demands and identification of new suppliers for specific demands involving the Strategic Buyer (and Category Manager) if project requests to deviate from category strategies
  • Contracts projected scope and preparing agreements on back to back basis under consideration of cash flow and commercial risk (advance payment guarantees, performance guarantees, …)
  • Runs tactical negotiations for project scope, manages RFQs, targeting for project savings, follow-up with suppliers, takes awarding decisions in line with existing category strategies
  • Managing Claims with suppliers along the project lifecycle
  • Monitors performance of suppliers, and shares with procurement stakeholders
  • Onboards the supplier base, manages and updates data in systems
  • Communicates with suppliers on demand, volume and delivery times, commercial terms, reduction of transaction cost, etc.
  • Direct involvement in and solving of issues with suppliers (e.g., quality, delivery and service issues), etc.
  • Clarifies issues with requestors and suppliers
  • Verifies contract terms (pricing, delivery, payment terms)
  • Tracks delivery and invoice performance
  • Follows set processes and performs repeating tasks
  • Delivers within given procurement strategies
  • Provides suggestions for improvement within scope of work
  • Provides lessons learned from projects to categories
  • Predominantly communicates with external partners
  • Implements industrial standards and best practices
  • Realizes cost and cash saving potential
  • Controls spend, drives demand reduction
