About The Position

The Project Associate will play a key role in managing various projects for the successful completion of the Secondary School Education Initiative. The initiative is broad in scope and includes a series of innovative projects aimed at enhancing business and accounting education, as well as education in financial literacy in Alberta’s secondary schools (grades 7 to 12). The successful candidate will provide critical project management expertise, stakeholder and contractor management and communications, along with technical support and integration of technology applications, including AI-driven support across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Exceptional project management skills, organization and planning skills, with an ability to balance multiple activities simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams; along with working knowledge of various AI tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including educators, CPA members, subject matter experts, and government partners
  • Post-secondary education in business, education, communications, technology, or a related field or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the education field is an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting profession, business education, or professional services is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing and undertaking the development of educational materials
  • Compiling data, drafting resources, and editing deliverables from outside contractors
  • Managing and maintaining project timelines, deliverables, and work plans; tracking and reporting on progress; identifying risks or delays; and liaising with other staff and contractors
  • Undertaking and managing research for curriculum development and technology-related initiatives
  • Facilitating tech-based initiatives such as video-game development for educational use
  • Working with researchers, contractors and subject matter experts in gathering and organizing educational stories, interviews, and insights from the CPA community
  • Educational content development, formatting documents, proofreading materials, and tracking revisions
  • Ensuring appropriate contract development in the engagement of subject matter experts and vendors
  • Managing project documentation, shared files, and workflow systems
  • Preparing meeting agendas, identifying and following up on action items
  • Scheduling stakeholder communications, event planning and coordination
  • Arranging the procurement of project-related tools or resources
  • Acting as a central point of contact and coordination between various stakeholders
  • Applying creative problem solving and basic data analysis to assess project needs, improve digital workflows, and support decisions related to course design, technology tools, and content delivery
