About The Position

The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of a dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual to join a research team at the University of Southern California. This role will participate in interventional studies using high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration to potentially help with cardiometabolic health.

Requirements

  • Excellent English writing, speaking, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a research environment.
  • Prior experience with participant recruitment and follow-up.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Superb problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.
  • High school or equivalent education.
  • 1 year of experience.
  • Knowledge of data collection procedures.
  • Some experience with proposal preparation and production of technical documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience with statistical analysis.
  • Experience with interventional studies.
  • Knowledge of REDCap database development and management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a public health related field.
  • Licensed phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

  • Contacting potential participants for interest and willingness to participate in the study using electronic medical records.
  • Coordinating home visit time with participants and maintain contact with participants during follow-up.
  • Conducting interviews in English or Spanish.
  • Setting up air purifiers and air pollution monitors at residential houses.
  • Transporting biospecimen and managing sample shipment for laboratory analysis.
  • Using the REDCap system to track recruitment and follow-up and enter data into databases.
  • Preparing study documents including IRB applications and progress reports.
  • Providing project support to the research study, study staff personnel, and faculty investigators.
  • Assisting in managing the Redcap database, sample manifest, and statistical analysis.
