About The Position

Mighty House Construction, a general contracting company with over 17 years of experience specializing in sustainable building practices for residential remodels in the Greater Seattle area, is seeking a talented Project Assistant. This role supports the management of all administrative duties crucial to the success of remodeling projects. The ideal candidate is organized, excels in customer service, can accurately calculate square footage, and can make decisions under pressure. This is a part-time position (15-25 hours/week, 3-4 days/week) with the potential for a hybrid schedule after training. The company emphasizes green building concepts and fosters a dog-friendly office environment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of project coordination/administrative/scheduling experience. Equivalent transferable experience will be considered.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting plans and making accurate square footage calculations.
  • Methodical thinker, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to ask questions and track down information when not readily available.
  • Effective problem solver, able to maintain clear and consistent systems and devise new ones where necessary.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaborate well with others, as well as work independently to accomplish goals.
  • Excited to learn and improve on existing skills.
  • Skilled in Google Suite (focus on Docs, Sheets, and Gmail).
  • Comfortable and experienced working on a Mac computer.
  • 100% tobacco-free and drug-free job sites.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and state-required insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the construction industry is a BONUS.
  • Understanding of the building process is preferred.
  • Strong candidates with proven project coordination, organizational, or technical skills in other industries will be considered and trained.
  • Passion for sustainability and its applications in the built environment is a plus!
  • Interest or experience in residential visuals and building is a bonus!
  • Excitement for using online construction management platforms (like JobTread) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and communicate with all new sales leads.
  • Track sales leads in CRM.
  • Accurately convert handwritten project notes into a budget worksheet.
  • Translate and synthesize verbal communications into actionable tasks and communications.
  • Acquire bids and estimates from trades partners and material suppliers, including scheduling site visits.
  • Perform material take-offs: calculate square footage of varying materials based on construction plans.
  • Communicate with trades partners, architects/designers, and Mighty House staff to ensure all project aspects are accounted for and accurate.
  • Collect and maintain information using the project management system, JobTread, and Dropbox.
  • Create Job Site Books containing plans, labor hours, specifications, and all other relevant information for onsite staff and partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
