About The Position

The individual in this role will conduct laboratory research for a project in the Soft Tissue Biomechanics lab supervised by Mark Buckley. They will work collaboratively as part of a research team, and will support the laboratory by performing a variety of tasks. Their responsibilities will include: (1) carrying out background research; (2) setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment; (3) performing routine experiments; (4) running custom or commercial software to analyze acquired data; and/or (5) organizing experimental data into a presentable form.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Lab research experience required
  • Some knowledge of mechanics required (at least one physics or mechanical engineering course)
  • Must be able to work as part of a team
  • Must be reliable, responsible, able to follow directions, and able to pay attention to details
  • Must be able to multitask

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out background research (e.g., reading journal articles)
  • Setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Performing routine experiments
  • Running custom or commercial software to analyze acquired data
  • Organizing experimental data into a presentable form
  • Other duties as assigned
