The Project Architect directs and is responsible for the development of the design work; leads in the production of technical drawings and specifications; coordinates the related work of the other disciplines; and assumes in-house construction administration duties on projects of moderate to large size and complexity. This role involves managing moderate to large, complex projects, providing mentorship to less experienced staff, establishing design parameters, identifying building systems, formulating project work plans, and leading the execution of project tasks. The Project Architect assumes primary responsibility for the daily activities of the architectural project team, the progress of the work, and the technical quality of Construction Documents. They accurately produce schematic design, design development, and construction documents, and are proficient in architectural graphic standards and construction drawing set organization. The role also involves assisting the Project Manager with schedule and budget adherence, identifying scope changes, providing resource/budget forecasting, advising on staffing requirements, and orchestrating the work of the entire project team, including engineering, interiors, and other consultants. Responsibilities include ensuring quality control, managing the production of construction documents, preparing addenda and bulletins, and performing in-house construction administration duties such as responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, issuing bulletins, and providing field representation. A thorough knowledge of company standards is expected, along with contributing to the improvement of office architectural standards, details, and production tools. Familiarity with Revit model creation, project set-up, workset/model management, laser scanning, and point clouds according to company standards is also required. Related duties as assigned.
