About The Position

STV is seeking an Architect for our Buildings group in NYC. The Project Architect is the chief technical architect for the management and creation of construction documents on assigned projects within STV's New York Metro architecture practice. The role exists to carry technical responsibility for the drawing set and specifications from Design Development through Construction Documents, ensuring coordinated, code-compliant, buildable documents. It sits at the project-delivery core of the practice, working under a Senior Project Architect and alongside the Design Lead and Design Manager. Key Responsibilities The Project Architect serves as the technical lead for the production of construction documents, including drawings and specifications, on assigned projects. This individual leads and develops the project team, directing technical coordination across all engineering disciplines and outside consultants to produce coordinated, conflict-free documents. The role owns technical detailing, code compliance, and document quality within the assigned scope. The Project Architect partners with the Design Lead, who holds design direction authority, as a technical collaborator whose involvement deepens through Design Development and Construction Documents. Working under the direction of a Senior Project Architect, the Project Architect manages day-to-day production and discipline coordination for assigned work and escalates strategic design decisions and client communication upward. Meeting scheduling, workplan logistics, and the consultant coordination interface belong to the project's Design Manager; the Project Architect concentrates on technical decisions, drawing production oversight, specifications, and mentoring of production staff. All production is executed in Revit. The Project Architect is responsible for model quality and for the integration of specifications with the drawing set. Beyond project delivery, the Project Architect contributes to STV's national technical leadership — participating in working sessions, sharing project experience, and helping build the firmwide technical standards and tools that support architects across the Buildings Division. The Project Architect also supports pursuits, contributing project-experience narratives and technical approach content to proposals under the direction of the Senior Project Architect or Market Sector Leader.
