About The Position

HOK is seeking a Project Architect to join their Interiors team in Philadelphia. The role involves managing the issuance and content of project deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy in documentation, coordinating with consultants, supervising staff, implementing construction phase services, and overseeing quality assurance reviews. The ideal candidate will be a licensed architect committed to technical excellence and contributing to a culture of design innovation. Requirements

Licensed architect with current license required.
Bachelor’s degree in architecture required.
10 plus years’ experience preferred.
NCARB registration preferred.
LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the overall design intent is incorporated into detailed documentation.
Monitoring the design process from conceptualization through construction administration.
Providing technical resolution and coordination for project segments.
Performing product research and potentially writing specifications.
Checking reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
Setting the strategy for document production, including file organization and BIM integration.
Establishing project team software parameters and managing standards.
Fostering collaborative relationships with the Project Leadership Team.
Communicating with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors.
Ensuring construction detail documentation meets quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
Supervising the preparation of technical drawings by junior staff.
Acting as a team leader on specific projects.
Mentoring and directing less experienced staff, participating in performance reviews and 'Lessons Learned' sessions.
Promoting sustainable work practices.
Developing trust and positive relationships with client leadership.
Communicating regularly with client representatives regarding design requirements, progress, and presentations.
Fostering a commitment to external and internal client service.
Coordinating and tracking shared electronic documentation with project teams, clients, and consultants.
Assisting in planning and conducting work, making minor adaptations to drawings.
Meeting with municipal building departments and governing agencies for approvals.
Writing reports and memos to consultants and vendors.
Providing technical support and project communications to the team.
Attending on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings.
Coordinating the review of contractor schedules and submissions.
Assisting Specification Writers with product research and material selection.
Involving in specification set-up, drawing coordination, and use of HOK Standards.
Supporting team members with specific expertise.
Participating in team meetings to resolve project issues, ensure coordination, and adherence to schedule and technical requirements.
Reviewing project costs, budgets, and schedule adherence.
Preparing meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings.
Preparing 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings and models.
Incorporating Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
Potentially participating in business development meetings.
