About The Position

RS&H is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Architect/Project Manager to join our Aviation Buildings team in Denver, Colorado. This position supports the planning, design, and delivery of aviation facilities—such as terminals, hangars, and support buildings—while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for an architect who is continuing to build technical depth, aviation experience, and project exposure while working under general supervision on projects of small to moderate size and complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional architectural experience, including work on small to moderate-sized projects.
  • Proficiency in architectural production software and construction document development.
  • Working knowledge of architectural design principles, building systems, and documentation standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project team members and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply standard methodologies and procedures with sound judgment under general supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited program.
  • Progress toward architectural licensure (ARE eligibility or in progress).
  • Prior experience supporting aviation, transportation, or complex building projects.
  • Familiarity with airport environments, including coordination requirements and phased construction considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and documentation of aviation projects, including terminals, concourses, support facilities, and landside/airside buildings.
  • Perform moderate architectural design and pre-design tasks, including planning studies, impact analyses, and development of design requirements.
  • Assist with preparation of drawings, presentation materials, visual aids, and portions of construction documents using advanced production software.
  • Participate in data collection, research, and investigations to support project development and regulatory submittals.
  • Contribute to coordination with internal disciplines including engineering, interiors, and planning.
  • Edit specifications and discipline reports to ensure consistency and technical accuracy.
  • Apply and continue developing proficiency in applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, fire regulations, and aviation-related standards (e.g., airport authority guidelines).
  • Support quality control efforts and assist with responding to comments during design reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
