About The Position

This role focuses on delivering architectural solutions for small-to-moderate complexity retail projects. The Project Architect II will be responsible for developing architectural models, construction documents, and specifications, ensuring compliance with building codes and sustainability standards. This position involves close collaboration with internal teams, consultants, and engineers to address design challenges and resolve technical issues during construction. A key aspect of the role includes mentoring junior team members and fostering professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Typically 6–10+ years of professional architectural experience with increasing responsibility in project documentation and technical design.
  • Strong experience producing construction documents and coordinating technical design for architectural projects.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Solid understanding of building codes, construction detailing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams including consultants and engineers.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Architectural licensure (RA) preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Experience with additional design and documentation tools is a plus.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural models, construction documents, and specifications for small-to-moderate complexity projects.
  • Integrate applicable building codes, sustainability strategies, and material standards into project deliverables.
  • Coordinate architectural drawings and project specifications for consistency, constructability, and seamless integration across disciplines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and engineers to resolve design challenges and maintain alignment with project scope, schedule, and design intent.
  • Review submittals, drawings, estimates, and technical documentation for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Resolve technical issues during construction administration, including site visits, documentation discrepancies, and code compliance challenges.
  • Apply proficiency in tools such as Revit and AutoCAD to produce accurate, coordinated documentation.
  • Maintain organized project files and submissions.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing technical expertise and supporting professional development.
