About The Position

A Project Appointment-student classification is utilized at MCW for students for the purposes of furthering his or her education. In order to qualify for this position, student status must be proven.

Requirements

Must have student status at an accredited educational institution
Knowledge of biology, chemistry, toxicology, pharmacology, mathematics, statistics, documentation, records management, data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Responsibilities

Design and perform laboratory procedures and experiments with minimal supervision.
Manage and operate laboratory equipment with minimal supervision.
Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff.
Conduct drug efficacy and toxicology studies.
Evaluate and interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, evaluate laboratory procedures.
Retrieve information from library and computerized databases; assist in preparation of manuscripts and presentations.
Maintain supplies, may negotiate with vendors, and track purchase orders.
Maintain equipment, perform/supervise repairs, and update computer hardware and software.
Other duties as assigned.
