About The Position

The Bloomberg Center for Government Excellence at Johns Hopkins University (GovEx or the Center) seeks to hire a Project Analyst to join our team of government, data, and performance practice experts to support senior government leaders across the United States, Canada, and Latin America to use data to get better results for residents. The Project Analyst coordinates project tasks and provides project management support to one or more project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Three years of related experience with some project management experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the point person for the creation of project definitions, budgets, timelines, milestones, communication plans, and schedules to determine scope and set timelines for assigned projects.
  • Participate in project design meetings, propose new ideas/innovations to support the project goals.
  • Implement project management best practices and process improvements to support project scope, activities, schedules, budgets, issues, solutions, etc.
  • Identify potential problems and roadblocks to success, develop and evaluate solutions to issues that arise.
  • Plan and manage team goals, propose timeline edits/updates as the project progresses.
  • Prepare reports in various formats for projects sponsors and/or stakeholders, may present on project status or milestones.
  • May draft and direct project communications/correspondence; prepare and review proposals, memos, RFP’s, etc.
  • Review project requirements and identify external vendors or services needed.
  • Ensure the project stays within budget, monitor expenses and implement cost saving measures.
  • Delegate project tasks and ensure that work is completed in alignment with the project timeline.
  • Schedule cross-functional meetings to ensure collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including contracts, invoices, data records, etc.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics for student engagement programs (fellowships, internships, capstones, and applied research), including recruitment, onboarding, communications, and tracking of participation, deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Support faculty partnerships and academic initiatives by coordinating meetings, course-embedded projects, and applied research collaborations, and maintaining related documentation and materials.
  • Develop and maintain program timelines, budgets, and reporting processes to ensure effective execution, tracking, and delivery of academic programs and special initiatives.
  • Coordinate program operations including events, workshops, stakeholder communications, and preparation of reports, presentations, and program materials.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for research and executive education activities, including scheduling, logistics, deliverable tracking, and support for grant materials and program evaluation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
