About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Project Air Quality Engineer to join their Integrated Sustainability and Compliance (ISC) team in a Texas office (Austin, Dallas, or Houston). This is a hybrid role involving office work, remote work, and client site visits. The ISC team is a rapidly growing and strategically important area for Arcadis. The role will support the expanding Gulf Coast air quality practice, working with North American Air Quality and Noise Community of Practice Leaders. The Project Air Quality Engineer will be a key technical resource for projects including air permitting and compliance support, regulatory applicability and strategy development, emissions inventory development and reporting, engine and ozone depleting substances compliance, greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability reporting, and air dispersion modeling. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with staff, contribute to diverse projects across various market sectors (including Oil and Gas), drive innovation, build technical communities within EHS, and mentor existing staff. Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Air Quality, with a strong background in Oil and Gas air emission calculations and permitting
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
  • EIT or PE registration in Texas and/or Louisiana

Responsibilities

  • Performing a wide variety of air quality services for clients in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, chemical, transportation, and oil and gas.
  • Participating in other environmental compliance projects such as compliance auditing, waste management, stormwater permitting and SPCC plans.
  • Applying knowledge of Federal and State (focus on Texas and other Gulf Coast states) air quality regulations to air permitting and compliance projects.
  • Assisting clients, including upstream and midstream facilities, with permitting and routine air quality compliance reporting such as compliance certifications, emissions tracking, deviation reports, and MACT reports.
  • Preparing air permit applications such as Permits-by-Rule, minor NSR, FESOP, Title V, PSD (and PSD avoidance), and Non-Attainment NSR (and NNSR Avoidance).
  • Collaborating with Arcadis’ air team leaders to ensure application of regulatory knowledge, analytical techniques, and excellent project delivery.
  • Performing emissions calculations for regulated air pollutants and greenhouse gases for reporting such as emission inventories, Toxics Release Inventories and Tier II.
  • Supporting client and proposal development activities.
  • Mentoring existing staff to support their growth and help grow Air Quality Services with key clients.
