About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Project Air Quality Engineer to join their Integrated Sustainability and Compliance (ISC) team in Tampa. This role is hybrid, involving time in the office, remote work, and client site visits. The ISC team is a rapidly growing and strategically important area for Arcadis. Services offered by ISC include Air Quality Permitting and Compliance, Environmental Due Diligence, Environmental Compliance and Assurance, Safety Compliance and Assurance, Digital EHS&S, Industrial Hygiene, Sustainability, and Product Stewardship. The Project Air Quality Engineer will work with North American Air Quality and Noise Community of Practice Leaders to support the expanding air quality practice. This role will be a key technical resource for projects such as air permitting and compliance support, regulatory applicability and strategy development, emissions inventory development and reporting, engine and ozone depleting substances compliance, greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability reporting, and air dispersion modeling. As a Consultant, you will collaborate with staff, contribute to diverse projects, drive innovation, and build strong technical communities within the EHS space. Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Air Quality, with a strong background in air emission calculations and permitting
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related engineering field
  • EIT or PE registration
  • Experience with AERMOD dispersion modeling

Responsibilities

  • Performing a wide variety of air quality services for clients in industries such as manufacturing, automotive, chemical, transportation, and oil and gas.
  • Participating in other environmental compliance projects such as compliance auditing, waste management, stormwater permitting and SPCC plans.
  • Applying knowledge of Federal and State air quality regulations (with a focus on states in the Southeast) to air permitting and compliance projects.
  • Assisting clients with permitting and routine air quality compliance reporting such as compliance certifications, emissions tracking, deviation reports, MACT reports, and dispersion modeling.
  • Preparing air permit applications such as Permits-by-Rule, minor NSR, FESOP, Title V, PSD (and PSD avoidance), and Non-Attainment NSR (and NNSR Avoidance).
  • Collaborating with Arcadis’ air team leaders to ensure application of regulatory knowledge, analytical techniques, and excellent project delivery.
  • Performing emissions calculations for regulated air pollutants and greenhouse gases for reporting such as emission inventories, Toxics Release Inventories, and Tier II.
  • Supporting client and proposal development activities.
  • Willing to travel up to 10-20% for project and client needs, which may include single overnight trips.
