About The Position

Superior is seeking a Project Accountant to manage and support financial and billing functions for active construction projects. The role partners closely with Project Operations and Finance, maintains timely and accurate billing processes, and ensures project finances are tracked and reported accurately. The Project Accountant provides on-site support at jobsite(s) and helps promote accuracy and consistency in project cost controls. The role is based at a jobsite in Detroit, Michigan, and reports to the Project Executive.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in billing, project accounting, or finance.
• Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with accounting or finance in the construction industry.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Construction Systems Management, Finance, cost management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform billing functions for construction projects.
• Maintain an organized invoicing process and supporting documentation, ensuring timely completion.
• Collaborate and communicate with Project Operations and external stakeholders to keep monthly billing timely and accurate.
• Work with Project Operations and Accounting/Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and questions.
• Continuously analyze project costs for effectiveness and accuracy.
• Deliver a high level of customer service to cross-functional partners.
• Support customer audits.
