About The Position

We are seeking a Project Accountant II to support a growing engineering and professional services team. This individual will play a key role in project financial management, client invoicing, budgeting, collections support, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting or project accounting experience
• Experience with client invoicing and project accounting processes
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Experience supporting engineering, construction, architecture, or professional services organizations
• Experience partnering directly with Project Managers on project financial performance

Responsibilities

• Generate and submit client invoices according to project contracts, codes, and fee schedules
• Manage project budgets and monitor financial performance
• Support collections efforts and communicate with Project Managers regarding outstanding balances
• Maintain project contract documentation, fee schedules, and budget entries
• Assist with accounts payable coding and processing
• Provide backup support for timesheet management and expense reporting
• Coordinate project accounting activities and ensure compliance with contractual requirements
• Analyze project financial data and provide timely reporting
• Partner with Project Managers to resolve financial and billing issues
• Mentor junior Project Accountants as needed
