About The Position

NBBJ is seeking a Project Accountant to join their collaborative Finance team and play a critical role in supporting projects across the firm. This role is available in our Columbus, OH or Seattle, WA office. As a key member of the Finance team, you will partner with Project Managers across all NBBJ offices to drive project success.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
A minimum of 3 years of project cost accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable functions.
Solid grasp of project financial performance, including revenue and profitability.
Strong MS Excel skills with proficiency in Word, Outlook and Adobe.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond to clients and team members in a professional and timely manner.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and follow through.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

Partner with project managers, clients and sub-consultants to prepare monthly invoices based on contract requirements.
Review and interpret contract terms to accurately establish budgets and billing terms within the financial system.
Validate and process a high volume of consultant invoices and ensure project costs are recorded correctly.
Maintain finance project files.
Review and audit teammates' work and jump in where needed.
Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements.
Assist with timesheet collection and participate in special projects as they come up.
