About The Position

The Project Accountant ensures that all labor classifications, rates, fringe calculations, and certified payroll data meet federal, state, and local prevailing wage requirements and are appropriately billed to clients. This role requires expertise in California's complex and administratively demanding prevailing wage regulations, including DAS requirements, CAC training fund contributions, and travel/per diem rules. The specialist provides oversight across all prevailing wage compliance functions, ensuring the organization adheres to every applicable requirement from Davis-Bacon, California DIR, and other state or local agencies. Collaboration with project managers, payroll, and accounting is essential to ensure accurate wage application, compliant reporting, and error-free invoicing.

Requirements

  • Expertise in prevailing wage regulations.
  • Experience with labor costing and burden calculations.
  • Knowledge of DAS 140/142 requirements.
  • Proficiency in creating pivot tables and Vlookups in Excel.
  • Familiarity with large scale ERP systems such as Deltek, SAGE, SAP, Oracle.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • 5+ years of experience calculating non-union prevailing wage for California companies.
  • 5+ years of experience in billing and calculating burden rates.
  • Experience in the engineering or architecture industry with revenue over $100 million.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project managers, payroll, and accounting for accurate wage application and compliant reporting.
  • Ensure error-free invoicing.
