About The Position

The Associate Project Accountant position assists Project Accountants and Project Accounting Management to ensure invoicing on each project is handled in an accurate, efficient, and professional manner. This is a non-exempt role where the employee takes daily direction from a Project Accounting Team Lead and is assigned duties according to specific procedures, with work being checked frequently. The role involves preparing and submitting detailed and accurate invoices of reimbursable costs associated with maintenance and construction projects to clients. It requires effective communication and close collaboration with other departments, field personnel, and client representatives to compile invoicing information and resolve problems. The employee must also work well with other Project Accountants and offer assistance when a co-worker's workload necessitates it. Additional responsibilities may include special projects such as client audits and system conversions, as deemed necessary by Project Accountants and Project Accounting Management. The role also involves preparing detailed and accurate month-end accruals (when necessary), researching, reporting, and explaining billing transactions to Accounting Management, and performing additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Accountants and Project Accounting Management in ensuring accurate, efficient, and professional invoicing on each project.
  • Prepare and submit detailed and accurate invoices of reimbursable costs associated with maintenance and construction projects to clients.
  • Effectively communicate and work closely with other departments, field personnel, and client representatives to compile invoicing information and problem resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with other Project Accountants and offer assistance when a co-worker's workload requires it.
  • Undertake special projects such as client audits and system conversions as directed.
  • Assist Project Accountants in preparing detailed and accurate month-end accruals.
  • Efficiently research, report, and explain any billing transactions to Accounting Management.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
