About The Position

The Project Accountant supports the monthly accounting close and reporting cycle and helps maintain the financial integrity of projects. The role monitors project financial activity and produces and analyzes reports to identify discrepancies and trends. It also assists with budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and improvements to workflows, procedures, and internal controls. The position offers hands-on experience in a growing company and the opportunity to expand skills and advance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and analytical, with strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a deadline-driven, evolving environment.
• A growth mindset, curiosity, and motivation to deepen knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with WIP or Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly accounting close and reporting cycle, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and Percentage of Completion (POC) entries.
• Monitor vendor and subcontractor invoices, commissions, compliance documentation, and overall project financial activity.
• Generate and analyze Payroll, A/R, A/P, Contract Status, and Job Cost reports, identifying discrepancies and trends.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of workflows, procedures, and internal controls.
