About The Position

The Project Accountant supports monthly accounting close and reporting and maintains the financial integrity of projects. The role monitors project financial activity and produces and analyzes reports to help leadership make informed decisions. It also supports budgeting, forecasting, audit activity, and improvements to workflows, procedures, and internal controls. The position is part of a close-knit team and offers hands-on experience in a growing company, with opportunities to develop skills and advance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 3 years of accounting experience with solid knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
Highly detail-oriented, organized, and analytical, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a deadline-driven, evolving environment.
A growth mindset, natural curiosity, quick learning, and motivation to deepen knowledge.

Nice To Haves

Experience with WIP or Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting.

Responsibilities

Support the monthly accounting close and reporting cycle, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and Percentage of Completion (POC) entries.
Monitor vendor and subcontractor invoices, commissions, compliance documentation, and overall project financial activity.
Generate and analyze Payroll, A/R, A/P, Contract Status, and Job Cost reports, identifying discrepancies and trends.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, audit support, and continuous improvement of workflows, procedures, and internal controls.
