About The Position

This Project Accountant role involves assisting with the initiation and close-out of project activities, including certified payroll, OCIP, and sales tax compliance. Key responsibilities include processing project invoices and subcontractor pay applications, tracking contract compliance and milestones, and performing project accounting reconciliations. The position also assists with owner payment collections, billings, and maintaining accounting processes and procedures. The role is considered safety sensitive and may require visits to construction sites. Regular in-person attendance is required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 0 – 5 years of accounting experience
  • Microsoft Suite
  • Basic computer skills
  • Verifiable work references
  • Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screens
  • In person, regular attendance required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in project accounting in AEC industry preferred
  • Project billing experience preferred
  • Experience with accounting software applications a plus
  • Knowledge of sales and use tax a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with initiation and close out of project activities including those with certified payroll, OCIP, sales tax compliance
  • Processing all project invoices and subcontractor pay applications
  • Tracking contract compliance and milestones
  • Performs project accounting reconciliations, including sales/use tax
  • Assists with owner payment collections and billings
  • Assists in maintaining accounting processes and procedures manual
  • Fosters a positive reputation in the industry by building relationships and identifies project opportunities aligned with strategic plans, and goals
  • Other duties as assigned
