About The Position

Walsh is seeking a Project Accountant for work in Westfield, Massachusetts. The role supports project financial operations, including subcontract and invoice processing, project cost reporting, monthly profit-and-loss reporting, owner billings, and cash-flow monitoring. The position requires independent work and travel to jobsites for regular cost report reviews. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field.
At least 2 years of construction accounting experience.

Responsibilities

Review and process subcontracts, subcontract change orders, and performance and payment bonds to ensure compliance with specified terms.
Collect and review project subcontractor and supplier lien waivers.
Collect, review, and process monthly subcontractor and supplier invoices, ensuring invoices are accrued properly and on time to the correct cost reports and phase codes.
Ensure proper payments to subcontractors and major suppliers.
Apply a strong understanding of Walsh's monthly P&L process, submit project P&Ls on time, and review them for accuracy.
Process cost transfers on project cost reports for Project Management staff.
Assist Project Management staff each month with preparing billings to project owners, including in-depth analysis of owner billings when applicable.
Collect, review, and submit monthly owner billings to the Senior Project Accountant II for processing.
Monitor cash flow and communicate with project staff about tracking accounts receivable and project payments.
Work independently and travel to jobsites to conduct regular cost report reviews.
