Under general supervision, the Materials Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and quantifying the continuous improvement projects designed to improve efficiency by eliminating waste and creating value for our customers. This role involves assisting management and team members in establishing projects that align with the Continuous Improvement Objectives and vision of the department. The Project Manager will develop project tasks, establish resources, and perform analysis of project costs, providing data analysis for projects return to the department in dollars and/or customer service to assist management in prioritizing projects. They will allocate work, assist in controlling the utilization of the resource pool, establish methods and track root causes for corrective analysis, and develop, track, and close out action items. Additionally, the role supports Materials Management in the support of a Distribution Requirements/Resource Planning strategy to determine/satisfy demands for inventory at global distribution centers by optimizing current and future enterprise resource planning applications. The Project Manager will conduct weekly reviews with management regarding continuous improvement objective/project status, maintain accurate records, and manage vendor-accomplished projects including legal documentation, scope of work, and invoice validation. The role also ensures high visibility of project measurements and develops metrics for inventory accuracy.
