About The Position

The National Programs Division is a unique operating division of CBIZ Property and Casualty Insurance. We focus on developing and managing specialty niche program business for homogenous customer groups. Working closely with our insurance carrier/capacity partners, we offer comprehensive insurance products, customized claims and risk management services, and outstanding customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Over 6 years' experience in area of expertise with increasing complexity
  • At least 4 years' experience supervising and leading staff
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrate industry experience and technical knowledge in area of expertise
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Expert knowledge of state and federal legislation and regulations impacting discipline
  • Expertise in managing clients
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Insurance educational designations such as CPCU, ARM or CIC
  • Experience in a delegated underwriting authority operation - MGA/MGU

Responsibilities

  • Manage the work activities, performance, and development of the program team.
  • Act as a referral resource for underwriting and operational issues.
  • Work with senior management to monitor and achieve profit and growth goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management, carriers, HR, marketing, accounting, IT, and outside vendors, to address program issues and strategies.
  • Ensure that all internal controls and procedures are followed - manage underwriter authority.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to improve operations and achieve goals.
  • Oversee quality review and file audit process.
  • Manage an assigned book of business as needed.
  • Build on niche expertise and monitor relevant issues affecting the business.
  • Work with senior management on various projects as needed.
