About The Position

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a prominent human services provider founded in 1894, offers a wide range of integrated services including social, educational, health, housing, mental health, nutritional, and fitness programs. Serving approximately 16,000 individuals annually across Manhattan, their clients span all age groups and include older adults, unhoused individuals, children and families, disabled persons, and adult learners. The organization operates two Older Adult Centers: The Center @ Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, which serves 350 older adults daily with diverse programming, and the Older Adult Center @ Saint Peter’s Church, serving 150 older adults daily with social, legal, health, and cultural activities. The Programming Coordinator will be a key member of the Older Adult Centers team, providing essential programmatic and administrative support for arts, education, and wellness programs. This role reports to the Deputy Director.

Responsibilities

  • Interface daily with members providing excellent customer service, fielding questions and responding to member needs
  • Assist with all aspects of administrative management of activity programming and services, including ensuring accurate programming data is recorded in the correct database
  • Input and edit activities in the calendar software, inDesign
  • Complete cross-checking of attendance documents using designated platforms and spreadsheets
  • Manage and lead activities at the Older Adult Centers
  • Coordinate and administer cultural performances and workshops in partnership with a variety of community and cultural institutions, including our ongoing Sundays @ 1 concert series
  • Support volunteer and staff instructors in scheduling activities, preparing class supplies, and arranging spaces for classes and workshops
  • Help to produce and manage theatrical and other performances featuring members
  • Arrange and manage cultural and shopping trips for members
  • Help facilitate day-to-day operations of our Older Adult Centers and ensure they are conducted in accordance with our high-performance standards and government regulations
  • Cultivate and maintain ongoing partnerships with community and cultural institutions across New York City
  • Collaborate with Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s staff from a variety of departments and disciplines
  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Deputy Director
