Requirements

Associate's Degree in related discipline and/or equivalent
5+ years of related discipline
A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
Strong working knowledge of comprehensive 3D CAD systems, such as Mastercam or NX, including 3D modeling and analysis of geometry
Solid knowledge of manufacturing operations
Strong knowledge of a variety of CNC machines and controllers
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, and proportions to practical situations.
Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

Develop and write CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Responsible for programming of mechanical part consistent with the quality requirements established by drawings and fabrication/inspection plans.
Select cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates; write instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide setup and operation of machine.
Analyze and evaluate computer test-runs and prove-outs to determine if specifications are met; determine procedural and programming logic to improve proficiency and accuracy of CNC program.
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control to ensure accurate and timely production.
