About The Position

The Programmer Analyst III's role is to develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of business requirements. This position will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Additionally, the Programmer Analyst III is also responsible for supervising and/or leading the development of new systems, directing changes to existing systems and controlling the interfaces between the systems, initiating complex feasibility studies and making recommendations of the action to be taken. Texas Tech Health El Paso (TTEP) is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. Additionally, this position is not eligible for remote or hybrid opportunities. All work is required to be performed onsite at TTEP.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in SQL Database 2012 or higher, C#, javascript, ASP.NET, MVC Framework, and API/Web Services.
  • Be team-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible.
  • Have strong analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus three (3) years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven (7) years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing Web Accessibility, Web security, jQuery, Entity Framework, Bootstrap, and ad-hoc reporting tools.
  • Experience working directly with end-users is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot software solutions in different programming languages using approved methodologies and tools.
  • Analyze customer needs and implement software solutions that automate/optimize processes.
  • Develops necessary supporting documentation for the software life cycle and maintenance.
  • Participate in the Project acceptance, installation, and deployment
  • Analyze and benchmark third-party software vendors to provide recommendations to end-users based on their specific needs/requirements.
  • Provide assistance and training to users on in-house and third-party applications/databases.
  • Participate in team code reviews and enforce established software development best practices, internal coding standards, and policies.
  • Provides dedicated support for Faculty Affairs information systems, including Faculty Information System and related implementation of a reporting solution, Faculty SOAR, and Watermark Faculty Success.
  • Remain current with all licensure, certifications, and mandatory compliance and training requirements for this position
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).
