About The Position

Silver Pines Treatment Center is a compassionate residential treatment center in Pennsylvania, providing medically supervised detox, addiction treatment, dual-diagnosis care, and primary mental health treatment for adults. Nestled in Mahanoy City, PA, Silver Pines offers around-the-clock clinical support in a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for individuals navigating substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, and other mental health challenges—whether or not substance use is present. Our Overwatch program provides expert, culturally competent care for veterans and first responders facing mental health and substance use challenges. Our trauma-informed detox and residential programs offer a safe, structured environment to begin healing. Requirements

A bachelor’s degree.
Must be working towards or hold a Pennsylvania licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC).
A minimum of 1 year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, preferably with clients with Mental Health diagnoses, including Thought Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Trauma History, Anxiety and Depression, strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience providing clinical services to military Veterans and/or first responders (law enforcement, fire, EMS, corrections, dispatch).
Must be culturally competent and have experience working with veterans and first responders.
Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
Clearance of TB test, PA and FBI background check, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Nice To Haves

Master’s Degree In Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field preferred.
Military Veteran or first responder lived/professional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Providing individual and group therapy sessions for clients in a specialized substance use disorders and Mental Health Residential treatment facility, with a particular focus on serving military Veterans and first responders.
Assessing the therapeutic needs of the individuals and families, and developing appropriate treatment.
Acting as the primary contact for clients and families throughout the treatment process and serving as a client advocate with the treatment team.
Serving as a liaison with referral sources, clinical partners, and internal resources to coordinate care throughout the treatment process, demonstrating cultural competence and clinical effectiveness with Veteran and first responder populations.
Demonstrating a high level of clinical skill in assessing the clinical needs of clients, determining appropriate interventions, and conducting individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with these needs.
Demonstrating cultural competence and clinical skill in working with military Veterans and first responders, including familiarity with occupational culture, identity, stigma/barriers to care, moral injury, trauma exposure, and the unique clinical presentations often associated with these populations.
Completing psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, contact logs, discharge plans and other reports required for each client in compliance with State, accrediting bodies, quality guidelines and payor source guidelines.
Conducting weekly individual and family therapy sessions for assigned caseload.
Monitoring behavioral interventions for clients and providing skills coaching, as needed.
Conducting specialized groups as assigned based on education, training, and experience; supervising or co-leading groups with staff or interns when appropriate.
Selecting appropriate interventions to meet the clinical needs of individual clients.
Maintaining therapeutic relationships with clients using praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behaviors and attitudes.
Setting limits and holding boundaries in a kind and firm manner.
Demonstrating effective verbal crisis intervention and de-escalation, involving other staff as needed.
Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate client care from admission through discharge.
Attending weekly clinical, consultation and business meetings; presenting cases to be discussed as pre-assigned.
Completing documentation in a timely and accurate manner reflecting ongoing assessment of client’s clinical presentation and behaviors.
Communicating client progress with the referral source, family, parent, or guardian informed of treatment goals and plans, as appropriate.
Documenting in accordance with policies and procedures services provided, incident reports, shift reports, or department reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Communicating with referents, clients, and families appropriately and effectively.
Using the referral process to build relationships with new referents and engaging in collaboration with referents.
Addressing clients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner.
Responding to clients and families with empathy and positive professional skills.
Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing treatment and results data and trends.
Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Can be relied upon to be at work as scheduled and is rarely absent from work, notifying the supervisor if absent.
Reading, understanding, and adhering to all company policy statements on ethics, conduct, and conflict of interests; adhering to facility policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintaining positive attitude and acting as a team player with others on the team.
Attending and completing all training within assigned time frames as required by the facility.
