About The Position

The Program Therapist Outpatient is responsible for participating in team treatment meetings to represent the therapeutic needs and goals of assigned patients. This role performs psychosocial assessments on assigned geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients, and completes indicated treatment plans using clinical information provided through the multidisciplinary assessment process. The therapist meets with patients to discuss treatment plan goals, define discharge criteria and plans, complete family sessions, and assess level of patient risk. Additionally, the role provides daily group therapy to geriatric, adult, and adolescent populations as scheduled and serves as a liaison between team members and involved social service agencies, ensuring a clinically appropriate aftercare plan is in place.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field preferred.
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois as a mental health professional is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; and have strong clinical assessment skills preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire.
