About The Position

Supervise and deliver the Red Shield programs and activities assigned by the Program Coordinators. Assist in overseeing and running any programs on campus with all age groups. Assist members in educational achievement, including student technology connection, supervision, assistance with schoolwork as needed, supervision during snack/meal, and help members follow CDC guidelines. Assist with check-in/check-out of members.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of computers/Chromebooks.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural, and social backgrounds.
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Display appropriate and professional behavior at all times.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must adhere to the dress code standards of The Salvation Army unit where position resides.
  • High School Diploma or AA Degree in General Education.
  • If working in vicinity of children or vulnerable adults a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing and running programs on campus with all age groups.
  • Assist members in educational achievement, including student technology connection, supervision, and assistance with schoolwork.
  • Supervise members during snack/meal times and ensure they follow CDC guidelines.
  • Assist with check-in/check-out of members.
  • Maintain all cleaning and sanitation practices of the facility and programs.
  • Support and work closely with Program Coordinators and other staff.
  • Report all accidents and facility safety concerns to Program Coordinators and/or Red Shield Director.
  • Work with employees and volunteers assisting with the programs.
  • Maintain proper conduct of all members participating in the program by constantly being aware of potential dangers and correcting behavior.
  • Assist with additional duties and responsibilities pertaining to the position.
  • Perform other clerical duties and/or supervise other program areas for the safety and ongoing of the Red Shield.
  • Maintain client and member confidentiality.
  • Adhere to the policies and practices promoted and administered by The Salvation Army.
